About Technician Membership
Technician Membership recognises engineers who hold relevant College or tertiary qualifications, combined with practical experience, equipping them to practise engineering as a systematic process. It reflects the skill of those who apply engineering knowledge directly and practically in the field, alongside professionally registered engineers.
Technician Members play an essential role in delivering engineering work on the ground — from construction and maintenance to technical support across infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects in Papua New Guinea.
Who Technician Membership Is For
Technician Membership is suited to those who:
- Hold a relevant College or technical/tertiary qualification in an engineering-related field.
- Have practical, hands-on experience applying engineering skills in a real work setting.
- Work in a technical support role — such as construction, maintenance, operations, or field supervision — within an engineering discipline.
- Wish to be professionally recognised and connected to the wider engineering community in Papua New Guinea.
Technician Members are part of IEPNG's professional community and are encouraged to pursue continuing professional development to build on their qualifications and experience over time.
