Port Moresby Branch — About

Established in 2002, the Port Moresby Branch is one of nine branches under IEPNG, alongside Lae (including the Student Chapter), Lihir, Kavieng, Wewak, Rabaul, Sepik, Tabubil, and the Highlands. As the capital city branch, it serves as a central platform for professional engagement, collaboration, and representation, and is managed by a committee of volunteers elected by its members, each holding a two-year term.

The Branch's mandate is anchored on four pillars: Professional Integrity, Excellence and Growth, Collaboration and Capacity Building, and Impact and Responsibility — guiding its technical programs, professional networking, and community-based initiatives across Port Moresby and beyond.

President's Message — 2025

It has been a remarkable year for the Branch, marked by the refinement of its strategic intent into a Strategy on a Page (SOAP) — a blueprint aligning its work around the four pillars. The year also saw a deepening of partnerships, highlighted by the securing of grant funding from industry supporters, which funded technical talks, school engagement programs, and the special 50th Independence "Breakfast with the Pioneers" event honouring those who shaped PNG's engineering profession.

The Branch's financial accounts for 2024–2025 were independently audited, confirming sound financial management and accountability.

Lae — IEPNG's Regional Office

The 2025 Annual Report does not include a dedicated Lae Branch chapter the way it does for Port Moresby. What follows is drawn directly from what the report does say about Lae — its regional leadership, and the year's headline event held there.

Lae is one of IEPNG's nine branches, and includes a Student Chapter. It also serves as the Institution's regional office for the MOMASE Region.

Electrical Manager with Niugini Electrical in Lae, Morobe Province. As Lae Branch Chair, she assists in managing IEPNG's affairs in Lae and across the MOMASE Region, with Lae serving as the Institution's regional office. Holds a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from FEU College (2011).

2025 marked a special year for the Institution as the first-ever IEPNG Engineering Expo was delivered — held in Lae, at the Lae International Hotel, from Wednesday 23 to Friday 25 April 2025.
